Shiva Karimi’s practice focuses on immigration law, including business immigration (employer and employee representation), family immigration, federal immigration litigation, naturalization, deportation defense, and asylum. Ms. Karimi served as chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Immigration Law Committee from 2002 through 2007, and was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Immigration Law Steering Committee during 2006 and 2007. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association. Ms. Karimi speaks fluent Farsi. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University School of Law in 1998, and is currently admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Karimi was named in the Massachusetts Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Edition of Boston Magazine for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Ms. Karimi has spoken at various lectures and conferences for judges, attorneys and non-attorneys, including the Boston Municipal Court Department Judge’s Conference, the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston College Law School, ALRI/Boston SABES, and the Iranian Association of Boston.
